AFC Applauds Rep. Mark Glanton, Encourages Passage of Tax Credit Scholarship Program for Low-Income Families
Washington, D.C. (March 26, 2015) – The American Federation for Children, the nation’s voice for educational choice, today praised Rep. Mark Glanton (D-Jonesboro) sponsoring House Bill 440, which would create a corporate tax credit scholarship program that would help to serve more students from low-income families.
“Rep. Mark Glanton is champion for school choice and we applaud his leadership on the behalf of students most at risk and in need of quality educational options,” said Kevin P. Chavous, executive counsel to the American Federation for Children. “As a member an appointee on Governor Deal’s Education Reform Commission, we’re proud of Rep. Glanton’s unwavering support for school choice.”
HB 440 would create a corporate-only, highly accountable tax credit program that would allow student scholarship organizations the ability to raise funds and provide educational scholarships exclusively to children in low-income families.
