24 Days of Giving Thanks – Day 16

It’s Day 16 of AFC’s 24 Days of Giving Thanks Campaign. Today we highlight an inspirational school choice student and strong advocate, Denisha Merriweather.
Denisha participated in Florida’s Tax Credit Scholarship Program and was the first from her immediate family to graduate from high school. She has gone on to receive her undergraduate degree and is currently pursuing her master’s degree.

Not only did she develop a love of learning thanks to school choice and has succeeded academically, she has also been a leader in the school choice movement. She recently spoke on a panel at the RNC convention about the importance of school choice, testified before the U.S. House Committee on Education & the Workforce and interns at Florida’s scholarship funding organization Step Up for Students.
