01.14.2015 AFC Daily News Clips – morning edition
Good morning:
A common theme continues to emerge from state of the state addresses nationwide: It is time to expand, improve and offer parents more educational options. Earlier this week, Gov. Ducey urged lawmakers to move away from the “one size fits all” system, and last night, Governors Walker, Pence and Christie all urged their legislatures to offer quality educational options to the parents of their respective states.
Walker: “We will continue to empower families to make the choice that is right for their sons and daughters.” [Full text]
Pence: “Let’s open more doors of opportunity to more Hoosier families by lifting the cap on the dollar amount that choice schools receive for students and raise the cap on the choice scholarship tax credit program.” [Full text]
Christie: “More school reform is needed. And a great first step would be to pass the opportunity scholarship act, to give parents a choice of a school that meets their child’s needs.” [Full text]
Have a great Wednesday,
Matt
