The American Federation for Children was launched in January 2010, when America’s leading private school choice organizations worked together to create a lasting and sustainable structure for the advancement of school choice through the creation of AFC.

This organization traces its roots to the founders of the modern school choice movement, most notably the late John T. Walton, a visionary philanthropist, pioneering education reformer, and founding board member.

Together, the American Federation for Children works with its sister organization, the AFC Growth Fund to empower parents, expand educational choice and revolutionize the nation’s education system.

The American Federation for Children works in states across America to advance our mission. Our headquarters are in Washington, D.C., with state-based staff located in regional offices around the country.
